THE CHALLENGE
At the recent 7th Annual Devolution Conference that happened in Makueni County, it became clear that Kenyans have to put a lot of effort or step into the fight against climate change as its effects are ravaging parts of the country with relief help needed urgently to support regions like Northern Kenya. In some parts of the country, unexpected and hard-to-predict heavy rainfalls are being experienced with flash floods. In some parts like the North-Eastern regions, Kenya is experiencing droughts. Such examples are the reasons why Kenya ought to take the fight for climate change seriously.
RELEVANT RESPONSE
The youth have to organically develop the inherent interest to combat climate change and lead the national efforts to reduce the ravishing effects that we are seeing right now. The Climate Resilience and Environmental Conservation Program (CRECP), a partnership between the innovative partnership of UNAIDISA, Food Security for Peace and Nutrition Africa, Impactnet Africa and Youth Envoy for Economic and Social Empowerment, has been created to respond to the climate crisis in the Republic of Kenya. Under this program, the youth of Kenya see it fit to have the national conversation about climate change intensified and has therefore invited all stakeholders involved in this fight into this national conversation. This conversation is in form of the National Climate Resilience and Environmental Conservation Conference that will take place from Monday 25th through Friday 29th, 2022 at Safari Park Hotel and Casino in Nairobi. While the 4C-K Conference focused on Ensuring Private Sector Commitment to Sustainability, CRECP-ANCRECC focuses on the effort of the youth both in government, the private profit, and nonprofit sectors as well.
AIM
The aim of this conference is to seriously begin a national conversation about empowering the youth to save future generations. The youth must be equipped to have an environment caring conscience, to get the skills to combat this calamity and to champion, speak out for, and constantly advocate for Sustainable Development and Sustainable selfless living.
OBJECTIVES

ACTIVITIES
ANCRECC will take five days with different activities. But the basic schedule will take the following fashion.
- Speeches by major leaders of government and various organizations involved with the battle against climate change.
- Breakout Sessions, with Presentations and discussions conducted by the Youth for Better Kenya leaders
- A joint Panel discussion with serious leaders responding to concerns for the theme of the day.
- Live Broadcast and Streaming of all the meetings at the conference
Themes for each day include the following.
- Day 1: The Role of the United Nations, the Kenyan Government & Private Sector in the fight against Climate Change
- Day 2: The Role of local Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation in the fight against climate Change
- Day 3: The Role of the Media, Civil Society and Religion in the fight against Climate Change
ATTENDANCE
Those that are allowed to attend the first edition of ANCRECC include;
- Pupil and Student Leaders of various environment clubs within high schools and colleges
- Teachers of various environment or climate change initiatives from selected schools and institutions.
- Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development officials
- Representatives of Civil Society, especially organizations formed to combat climate change.
- Representatives of the National Environment Management Authority
- Recognized Young leaders, especially alumni Fellows of international youth exchange programs.
- Heads of United Nations Agencies and International Nonprofits in Kenya, with their roles being in Speeches and addressing concerns in Joint discussion panels.
- Chief Executive Officers of Climate change combating innovative tech startups like OpiBus.
IMPLEMENTING PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS
This conference is organized by CRECP, a major national program created with the partnership of Impactnet Africa and Youth for Better Kenya, who have officially invited other organizations to partner with us.
PROGRAM LOCATION
CRECP is now hosted at the UNAIDISA / YBK/ /IMPACTNET AFRICA offices at 53 Chalbi Drive in Lavington, Nairobi. As we seek to establish new offices for the program. ANCRECC should take place at Safari Park Hotel, located along the Nairobi, Thika Super Highway, at the USIU-A exit, in Nairobi, Kenya.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Original support for the initial budget of CRECP and ANCRECC comes from organizations that choose to partner with us. The initial budget for ANCRECC is 198,876 USD. But any support from organizations willing to partner with us is welcomed. This budget’s specific purpose is to conduct a successful conference that should bring all the major stakeholders concerned with the climate crisis together to see how to combat it in Kenya.
RELEVANCE TO GLOBAL GOALS
CRECP invented ANCRECC responds to the United Nations rallying call for sustainable growth and development to save our planet. It specifically responds to the overall vision of a green Kenya with a thriving ecologically sustainable economy and contributing well to the overall wellbeing of the planet.
Vision 2030 for Kenya
In order to achieve a middle-income and ecologically sustainable but industrialized Status by the year 2030, Kenya will need a workforce that has superb knowledge in climate mitigation strategies and superb technological skills. Since the key to mitigation of climate crisis relies heavily on advancement in technology to drive an ecologically sustainable industrial environment, future generations must be trained and indoctrinated from the very early childhood to love the environment, love technology, adopt a culture of sustainable living and use these skills to stay relevant to the ecological crises of the day and quickly solve problems.
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations has set several goals that will ensure safety, security, stability, growth, empowerment and the general well-being of every individual on planet earth. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
These goals were set to make sure that whatever activities human beings get involved with do no harm to either themselves or the environment surrounding them and that these activities become sustainable. CRECP hopes to the achievement of some of these goals. The goals relevant to CRECP include:

ACTIVITY TIMELINE AND SUSTAINABILITY
- ANCRECC will hold its first conference in April 25th through 27th and will undergo review and from there, all stakeholders involved will make a decision on the continuity of the program.
- CRECP, working together with the MOE and KICD, intends implement its first phase of the program, the ECD CBC stage, for one year after the conference and analyze its impact after that.
